What is G-WeBconnect?

 
G-WeBconnect is your gateway to the insights and explorations of the Boys and their backpacking mishaps and happenings. Think of it as the Homer Simpson of trekking, the interstate to backcountry knowledge, and as a cornucopia of camping tips, snowshoeing, UltraRunning adventures, recipes for backcountry fine dining, and explorations in canoeing.

G-WeB is a living web site. It's formatting evolved from a loosely defined, longitudinal effort to chronicle too many interlocking ideas. It's grown in content (nearly 400 pages), and the quality of it's images improved when "g" became digitized. It's not perfect... but it will connect you to a myriad of links related to "g" and his adventure-hounds.

 
Since being launched on the 3W during November, 2001, most of
G-WeB’s e-mail continues to the beg the question, “So... who sits at
the keyboard of G-WeBconnect?”

 
Initially, “g” wrote the verse to the numerous poetic links at G-WeB. It started with his e-accounts of backpacking adventures with the Boys, and then rapidly mushroomed into a full-blown manic obsession to record their every-waking-moment.(Good grief.) However, many now believe “g” is long-since-gone, and a computer virus masquerading as some form of artificial intelligence now pounds out the links to G-WeB.

 
And… the Boys? They’re an ever-adjusting, composition of unusual backpacking characters who (mostly) live in Upstate New York. Luxuriating in the self-perception of being a small elite hiking group in the Adirondack Mountains, they (regrettably) take credit for encouraging “g” to formalize his writings.  However, it was “g’s” brother in Phoenix (RB-One-Kenobi, Jedi-Knight) who put the scorpion in his ear during a trip into the Grand Canyon (2000), “If you build it, they will click onto it.”
