What's New: 7/08 Update

Prologue for 2008:
The Pitter-Patter
of Running Momentum

G
-WeB
is proud to be entering it's 8th year on the WWW! With continuing efforts to diversify and remain your mega-website for the best in Explorations in Backpacking, we are constantly pushing the Boys' envelope to take on more. More high peaks... more UltraRunning... more backpacking...
and now... you can contact us 24/7 at:

g-editor@g-webconnect.com

In 2007, the Boys were pretty active. The Hat and Axe are well on their way to achieving 46er status - that is, climbing all 46 high peaks in the Adirondack Mountains (NY). Fast John began to train for his first Iron Man in Lake Placid (7/08). Runners With No Sole returned to run Reach the Beach 200M Relay Race and ripped 2 hours off their '06 time. Last winter, Gotta Have A Lighter Pack Larry led the Boys in a snowshoe expedition half way around Putnam Pond in 3-feet of leg-burning powder. ER Fred took a breather from adventure climbing and became an UltraRunner at last year's Wakely. High Altitude Joe was seen having a brewsky with the Boys at the Publix House. "a" and her dad ("g") discovered Shenandoa National Park. STX-Man (AKA: Kyle), Groovin' Greg, "a", and Slammin' Sarah all ran their first Thanksgiving Turkey Trot. "g" attempted to complete a 50-miler Hat Trick and has his heart set on a 100-miler in '08.
Yep... the Boys have been busy!

In 2008, the Boys will carry forward many of the same aspirations from '07. As for "g", he's got some cardiac goings-on which might rescue him from a commitment to run his first 100-miler. Nevertheless, you can expect to hear more about the Boys and their backpacking, UltraRunning, snowshoeing, and kibitzing behavior in the months that follow.

So... there you have it. G-WeB and the New Millennium Hikers... all ready for 2008! Remember... keep your compass pointed to G-WeBconnect for the latest in gear, outback adventures and other quasi-important matters in the world of backcountry trekking!
