Then a change occurred. With his ASICS smoldering
at the finish line of his first half marathon (9/04), "g"
set his sights on running his first marathon in 2005... and of course... another
shift in his training paradigm occurred. Instead of strong-and-fast (well... sort-of-strong
and not-really-fast), he now jogged to the tune of slow(er)-and-steady.
So...
the pitter-patter of long-distance jogging momentum took hold of "g".
By December '04 he had embarked on a massive mission to achieve new running feets.
While visiting family in D.C. on New Year's weekend, "g"
became enamored with the moment... and... while standing in front of Iwa Jima,
he and his sister-in-law (AKA: Margarita Jeannie) decided: We're
doin' the Marine Corps in '05! (The madness had begun.)
The
links below are organized in descending order. To read about "g's"
unfolding cardiac story and his unsuspecting fate as an ultrarunner,

The Story Behind "g's" Cardiac Stent
So,
there you have it. An unfolding and evolving history of explorations in "g"-running.
