Iron Al:
"Help, I fell over
and I can't get up!
No, really! I can't get up!
AND... turn off that

Part 7: The Typical Transition Area -
Featuring Marathon Jeannie (AKA Lady in Pink)

Van #1 had no time to dawdle between transition areas when RTB legs were only 3-4 miles long. But, when legs were 8-9 miles long... there was a lot of sitting around and waiting. Below depicts the typical happenings at a transition area - TA #5.

Quickly referred to as Lady in Pink, pink became Marathon Jeannie's trademark. Here she's burning off a ton of nervous energy acting silly as she's about to run her long awaited, first leg of RTB.

Iron Al killed some time staring at his watch.

"Hmmm. I wish I knew what this thing did."

18-Wheeler Steph, who rapidly gained recognition for being
able to park their
12-passenger van between 2 eggs in
an egg carton, studied the course in her spare time.

The Jogging LaBellas
discuss race strategy.

Captain: "OK... when you get the baton from MO, just run!"

Pink: "What do
you mean?"

(Oh-oh. RWS
were in trouble.)

Pink begins to crack under the pressure of being the last in Van #1 to run their first RTB leg. Moments
after this picture was taken, she bit the
runner to her right in the calf!

INCOMING!
MO comes zoomin' in!
OUTGOING...
Another perfect hand-off as Pink gives the ol' thumbs-up as she heads out of town!
