This is the coveted race to enter in Washington, DC - the Cherry Blossom 10M! With over 10,000 runners, crowds of cheering family and friends, and Cherry Blossom trees in full bloom as far as the eye could see... this run was a feast for the senses!

After parking the car and taking the Metro into the Arlington Cemetery area, it was a short 1.5 mi walk to the start line. Although trains started 30 minutes later then announced, and the porta-johns had hundreds in line, we arrived at the start line about 25 minutes pre-race. We checked in our extra clothing to retriive after the race, and found our spot in the Green Coral ready to jam. Sunny and approaching 60-degrees, it was perfect running weather for a guy getting a spring break from the Great Northeast!

Aside from starting the race with a full bladder (which was really a drag - literally), I ran the course with an average pace of 8:30 minute miles. And... in brand new ASICS Gel Nimbus 7s! (Yes... at the Race Packet Pick-up Expo the previous day, I was successful in securing a new shoe that offered more cushioning and flexibility then my most recent purchase - Brooks, Adrenalines) I was a happy jogger - FINALLY!
