"g's defition of training:

Where wisdom, the use of reliable information for improving one's endurance, and common sense converge; self-punishment redefined as, are we having fun yet?; the part of a completed goal that no one else sees.

Tailoring a training schedule to my 51 year old body took a little time to figure out. Determining my available time to train... healthy life habits, the weather, etc... all got factored into the training schedule below. I've decided not to be anxious about deviating from my training schedule due to illness, knawing aches, and family or social commitments... although I'll always try and allow for some type running or cross training when I travel.

Finally, my training schedule will use as it's cornerstone the Intermediate Marathon Training Schedule in Runners World's Complete Book of Running. This schedule will be considered a work in progress and will be adjusted based on my health, learning curve for what works for my body, and other life-needs.
