Harp and Shamrock 5K

The spirit of becoming a runner can be contagious. After "g" crashed Saratoga Spring's 1st Night 5K (it's a long story...), it was Slammin' Sarah's request that she try running a 5K with her father. So... as winter days gradually became longer, SS and her father did a little training together in preparation for their first race - the Harp and Shamrock 5K.

Of course, it would not be an event without the Hat. So, off they went... to run.

The same course as 1st Night, the H & S course around Skidmore College is quite hilly. Yet, the gang with guts clocked 8:30 at the first mile and 9:00 at their second. Trailing behind the Hat by about 2 minutes, Slammin' Sarah and her father finished the race with a very respectable 28:50 - SS's personal best!
