| The
Boys never rest. Within days of Troy's 40th Annual Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving,
"g" pulled together a small contingent
of first time (and not so first time) runners. Iron Al, the Hat,
Whiskey Tottin' (and his two daughter's, I'm Too Cold Sarah and
A1), and "g" got an early
start and arrived in Troy at 0730... just as the setup crew had arrived. Whereas
Whiskey Tottin' and his daughters have entered numerous 5K races, the others
were newbies. The Turkey Trot is always on Thanksgiving morning. There are
four events: (1) a 1.5 mile walk for children and families; (2) a 1.5 mile jog
for children and families; (3) a 5K; and (4) 10K. The weather was cold,
crisp, clear and the best possible conditions imaginable for the end of November.
The sprinters from Ballston Spa all finished with good times. They each received
a medal. They were all (very) happy campers. The most important question,
though, is yet to be answered: Will the Boys
race on snow, ice and with bitter cold temperatures on New Year's Eve in the Saratoga
Springs 5K? Geez... Statistics
