2008-09: The Lost Journal Updates:
Where the Heck Has "g" Been the Past 18 Months?

"g" basks in the glory of his 3,500 foot ascent to the summit (4,867 ft.).

June '09: Whiteface Mt. Road Race (Lake Placid, NY)
Feeling good with plenty of hill training, I ran the Whiteface Mt. Road Race at a great pace. C-Team and and her youngest son (K, who planned beat me to the summit) made the weekend trek with me. Unfortunately, K had become acutely ill and stepped out of the race at Mile-1. I was also introduced to Lake Placid's, High Peak Bike Shop which would later have an unexpected impact on my wallet some months down the road.

 At the Start Line... "g" climbs the

K: Sick as a dog.
End of a great plan to
beat "g" to the summit

 

 Due to unexpected changes, "g" beat C-Team
to the finish line because of last minute vehicle restrictions by the race director.

Once at the finish line, runners and spectators have the option to climb (2/10ths of a mile)
up a rock stair case to the summit.

 

K: Ponders.
If only I hadn't eaten
8 spicy burritos for breakfast.

"g": Flaunting.
If only K knew he ate burritos laced with pooping pills. (Hackle. Hackle.)

 

"g" and C-Team:
Yea...
time to go home!
