| | The water shuttle
across Jenny Lake took about 15 minutes. Once on board the
Boys scrambled and searched for their wallets buried deep in the bottom
of their packs. They were preparing for a $5 water taxi fee to be collected at
the landing. (The monetary penalty for by-passing the 2-mile hike around Jenny
Lake to the Ranger Station was well worth the inconvenience of carrying money
for 5 days on the trail!) Once at Jenny Lake Tourist Center, they milled about
with the tourists who gawked with envy at their trademark for being
elete backcountry backpackers - moderately bearded and clearly disheveled looking!
These on-lookers were the folks who would merely touch the edge of Teton park,
and yet, secretly longed for the backcountry experience! At about 1400 hours,
two shuttle vans pulled up, the Boys loaded
up their gear, souveneers, and they were off to Jackson Hole for their last night
in Wyoming. Oh, boy oh boy! Shower time back at the hotel would be immediately
followed by brewskie and HUGE steak time! And then... let the LaBellishments
begin! | | | | |

| | | | Bright
and early on Tuesday morning, the Boys loaded
up their gear and headed back to Jackson Hole's airport. Shortly after "g"
snapped the above photo of their aircraft, he was reprimanded and quickly ushered
off the tarmac for stopping in a restricted zone. (Perhaps Air Force Two was in
the vicinity; the Vice President lives in Jackson.) Anywho... no one got hurt,
The Knee's brace worked like a champ, and there were no (fortunately)
grizzly sitings. (Cool.) The only remaining question for this G-WeB editor, is:
Where will the Homer Simpsons of backpacking show up next? | | | |
