A
long long time ago in a far away galaxy . . .
An intrepid band of Knights wandered the galaxies on great quests making
the worlds of the empire safe from greenhouse gases and lousy beer. Victims
of their
own success, they found the limits of the known universe (and their families patience) and shied away from going any further.
Gradually they dispersed and drifted away from their quests. YodaJoe
was trapped on a waterworld,
wearing an eyepatch
and guzzling beer as quickly as he could; LaBella
the Putz
was rumored to have had a strange device implanted in his chest after which he
was unable to walk or sit but cursed to be running always
running, Lawrence the Grand Moostapha
of Katahdin
had been poisoned
by coming into contact with a foul stick and was transported back in time to a
period when men wore strange costumes and wandered endlessly through open fields
. . . but perhaps the most wretched
and heartbreaking loss of all for the Knight was that of Obi Wan Minobi.
Obi Wan was captured one day by the evil Lord Harley who hypnotized him and convinced
him that his knee was too painful to quest upon and turned against the Tootado
creating more greenhouse gases and working for Lord Harley's chief lieutenant evil Darth
W to make the world safe
for obscene oil company profits. Only Ax Solo and Elmer Fuddrucker
remained to keep the light burning in hopes that the Knight might one day return
to the ways of Tootado. Then one day Obi Wan miraculously rematerialized
for one last quest. He would test his knee even if it were to kill him.
And there was much laughter in the halls of the Publik House and also much whining about matters of great
weight and stories that had been told 100 times were told yet again. Ax,
Elmer, and Obi Wan set out once again as in days of old and words were spoken
that had not been heard in many a year ("Did anyone see my . . . ?"
and "I never heard anything about going to Basin in addition to Saddleback
until this morning . . ."). In the end they completed their
quest and Obi Wan's knees were fine (though every other part of his
body hurt). As he said good-bye he was heard to say "May the tootado be with you!" To be continued . . .
(Editor's Note: Response
from... well... we at G-WeB are
not quite sure. However... this comment seems to come from someone with great
nobility and stature.) My
Lords, Ax , Elmer and Obi Wan the force is still
great within me. My quest to the south was a commitment that was made in the month
of the snoozing potato. The forces of darkness had been creeping closer and closer
to our borders and needed to be repelled. And repelled they were. My mission
to the south is now complete and I can now direct my energies to the light.
As
I can see Lord Obi Wan is back in the circle of the Wanderers of Tootado. My complements and loyal sword are with you. It looks
like your special quest has been successful in the summitting
of the mystic mountains of Basin and Saddleback. As
for Lord Ax I'm sorry to see that his true height has been captured. As I
recall many moons ago it was rumored in the Halls of Tootado that their was a great discussion
of who towered over whom. Was it Lord Elmer or Lord Ax ? At that time a royal decree went out through the
lands that Lord Elmer was the lesser. And their was great jubilation to be had by all. But at last Lord
Ax is only a rolling head !!! How could this be
? What sorcery is afoot ? How could
Lord Ax be just a head ? I
am hastening from the south to the Halls of Tootado with
the Holy measuring Tape of Antioch. What treachery I know not
. But I will be back. May the force be with you all .
